One of Indianapolis’s
most graceful public spaces, the American Legion Mall needed
a facelift after 60 years. Among the challenges was restoring
massive, cast aluminum eagles that were about to split into
pieces. In our own shop facilities we used the best welding
practices to make these monoliths stable again. Then a specialist
applied luminous gold leaf.
To match
the weathered concrete sidewalks, our finishing crews experimented
with a range of applied colors so that today one can barely
tell where we replaced the concrete.
