Since
Jungclaus’s company color is green,
what would you expect?
Jungclaus-Campbell was
privileged to work on one of Indiana’s first LEED-certified
projects and recently completed a large LEED project for the New
Indianapolis Airport. Our gritty knowledge of construction helps
us guide owners toward truly practical steps and tradeoffs needed
to get LEED certification.
Green Building & LEED Experience:
Jungclaus’s historic downtown buildings, which
we have occupied since 1895, testify to our long-standing commitment
to sustainable, environmentally responsible construction. Long before
LEED was fashionable we were embracing green building by:
- Replacing our HVAC systems with ultra high-efficiency
equipment
- Installing super-insulated roof systems to conserve
energy
- Replacing lighting with efficient fixtures
- Installing insulated windows to replace factory
sash in our mill
- Exposing historic timber framing that required
no other finishes
- Reusing timber materials salvaged from our buildings
and from historic structures we built. The window wall in our
ProTraining Room, for instance, was salvaged from School 15, which
we built in 1923, and today graces the mill where it was made
- Installing a massive skylight in our mechanic’s
shop to save energy and embrace LEED principles.
For Jungclaus, green building and LEED are a natural. |
