500 Wing Test Cell Refurbishment
Speedway, Indiana

Working in two shifts, we completed this complex $8.2 million project in just four months, renovating structures that Jungclaus built in 1950. Self-performed work included large-scale demolition, concrete, and extensive structural steel we erected with a 200-ton crane.

Using ProPlanning™, we were able to

• Accelerate the schedule from 25 weeks to 19 weeks at no additional cost.
• Keep 40 percent of the test cells in operation at all times.
• Features of the project included:
• New bridge cranes
• Complete new electrical control wiring for test cells
• More than $1.4 million of mechanical work
• “Total Tie-Off” of all elevated work
• 50,000 hours logged with no injury, a credit to ProSafety™ planning and discipline.
