Pavers, not projectiles
Using the ProQuality™ template, we discovered
that heavy downtown traffic would have turned decorative concrete
pavers designed on a major State project into dangerous projectiles
because the pavers as designed were not thick enough to lock
in to each other. Working with experts in the masonry industry,
we analyzed alternate designs and presented our findings to
the State. The result is that today the crosswalks on Indianapolis’s
American Legion Mall are made of colored concrete. And a fiasco
was averted.
