GM was in a bind
It had promised hourly employees a new cafeteria.
It had also promised the UAW no contractor would be in the
plant after November 11.
RESULT: three weeks to complete a $550,000 cafeteria.
Oh, and no one could work more than one shift
or 40 hours a week either.
With every day critical, we brought ProPlanning™
to bear. Following prescribed planning agendas, we found time-saving
designs and even inverted the usual schedule of finishes.
When the plant manager came on November 11 to
cut the ribbon, workers lined up for a city block to get in.
